Kumho Tyres:

The Kumho Tire Company only started tyre manufacturing in the sixties but with every year that passed they were developing their technology at a tremendous rate. It seemed that every year brought innovative thinking to this particular market. They actually started with truck tyre production in 1961 but by 1963 were producing car tyres. The following year they developed certain types of inner tubes. By 1968 Kumho had further extended their range to include agricultural and large scale industrial tyres and three years later had developed a tubeless tyre for trucks and buses. A few years later they introduced a tubeless tyre for passenger cars and in 1974 manufactured a radial car tyre. In 1981 Kumho obtained 10 year rights on their all weather tyre and shortly afterwards succeeded in developing an alternative to black tyres by producing red, blue or green tyres! Approximately ten years later Kumho had developed a winter tyre followed swiftly by a run-flat tyre. Shortly afterwards they turned their attention to providing an exceptionally comfortable ride on their ultra high performance tyres.

The Kumho range includes the Ecsta SPT KU31, it's latest UHP tyre which combines racing technology and some of the latest features of road tyre design including maximum performance on wet roads due to the new silica-based compound and patented rotate wear indicators enabling the user to easily monitor the tyre's tread depth. Kumho say that this tyre also maintains driving stability at high speed and that the even wear profile will help suppress noise even as the tread depth reduces. The Kumho HM KH31 tyre has been designed for higher powered saloons and estate cars. It has an upgraded tread compound and advanced belt package to boost excellent handling, longevity and aquaplaning resistance.

The Kumho Solus has been designed for use on a wide variety of vehicles and like all the other aforementioned tyres offers a well balanced performance with reduced noise levels, durability, reliable handling on dry/wet road conditions, aquaplaning resistance and efficient water drainage.

Kumho's extensive 4x4 offering extends to the Ecsta STX KL12 with its improved dry handling performance, high speed stability with directional grooves to provide first class wet and aquaplaning performance and excellent handling on wet or dry surfaces. The Ecsta APT KL51 and the Ecsta APT KL16 have a hardwearing tread designed for all weather conditions giving a comfortable ride and excellent grip on accelerating and braking.

The Road Venture AT KL78 - a durable heavy duty 70% on-road/30% off-road tyre with outer white letters offering enhanced traction, the ability to evacuate mud and water effectively and designed to minimise noise.

The Road Venture AT 825 is a light duty tyre with a strong centre rib to reduce tyre wear. It features outer white letters and is designed to behave well on wet road conditions; tyre noise is minimised and its design means that traction is maximised for nearly all surface conditions - on or off road.
